Summer Staff/Internship Job Description
Title: Summer Staff
Reports to: Camp Managers, Board of Directors
Job summary
The primary job of the summer staff is to keep campers safe.
Summer staff are hired to support the managers in maintaining and cleaning the grounds as well as facilitating the use of recreational facilities of Camp Christy during the ABCCR summer camp season. Staff are required to live on site during the ABCCR camping season.
Interns will work closely with managers to increase their skills in management and leadership.
Summary of essential job functions

Assist kitchen staff with the preparation/serving/clean up of meals during camp

Be a support to directors, cabin leaders, and other adults and children from camps and all events.

Facilitate the Rockwall and swimming sessions for camps. The Rockwall involves work in high places.

Assist managers in numerous duties such as cleaning, light maintenance, and grounds work to ensure the camp is maintained during the season.

Minimum requirements

18 years or older and no longer able to attend an ABCCR camp as a camper
-
GED or High School Diploma
-
Relationship and Daily Walk with Christ including regular church attendance/involvement.

Pass a background check
-
Be physically fit as defined by the ability to stand and withstand outdoor elements for long periods of time, lift a minimum 30lbs, and other rigorous duties.
Required training provided by Camp Managers
-Orientation using ABCCR Handbook and Camp Christy Policy Manual (TBA)
-Rockwall certification (TBA)
-CPR/First Aid (TBA)
Abilities preferred
-Lifeguard certification (Training available - Date TBA)
Salary: $75 dollars per day full day and $37.5 per half day. Internship is $870 for 4 weeks. Training is unpaid but required for internship.
Hours: Varied while campers are on site. No less than 8 hours per day.
