

Safety Procedures
Camp Christy services a variety of ages year-round. It is of upmost importance that we follow proper safety protocols for all situations. Here is an overview of our safety procedures!

Tornado Safety
In the event of a tornado, campers and guests will seek shelter in the basement of the dining hall.

Severe Thunderstorm Safety
In the event of a severe thunderstorm warning, campers and guests will shelter in place away from all windows.

Field Fire Safety
In the event of a field fire, campers and guests will be evacuated in the opposite direction of the fire and meet at First Baptist Church in Scott City. Campers will be evacuated in personal vehicles, school buses, church buses, and/or camp vehicles.

Fire Safety
In the event of a building fire, all campers and guests in that building and surrounding buildings will evacuate and meet at the playground.

Sexual Abuse
- Camp staff is not permitted to be alone one-on-one with underage campers.
- Campers are only allowed to be in cabins during transition periods and rest/sleep times.
- Campers are to be visible to cabin-leaders at all times.
- Physical touch between male campers/staff and female campers/staff is not permitted.

Physical and Emotional Abuse
- Campers are encouraged to use God-honoring language in any and all conversations.
- Wrestling, physical man-handling, and/or any inappropriate physical touch is not permitted at Camp Christy.

Intruder Safety
In the event of an intruder, campers will lock-down in place. Camp staff will be trained in the run-hide-fight method.
